He has returned

Much like Jesus, Ryan Whiteis has returned to Maryland. Many juniors and some sophomores probably remember this man. He will be around for a weekish.

Christmas!

Merry Christmas everyone. I liked that one year when Christmas and Chanukah were the same day. Thanks for reading.

Also I watched A Christmas Story 27 times. More than last year but not much of an improvement, I really need to step it up for Senior year.

Grades

Grades are up. Gotta access smartnet though. Julia Andrade Rocha reminded me of this trick a few days ago. Just head to

https://hp1.smcm.edu/cgi-bin/student/frame.cgi

And log in. The username will be your ID, and the password will be something weird, like the password you use for blackboard/an old password. Not sure exactly. But the gradess get put up in real time. At this point they'll probably all be up.

Smartnet is still around (from what I've heard) because teachers really liked it/didn't want to learn a new system and demanded that they still get to use it. Which I think is kinda lame, but I'm glad the school listened to them. I don't really prefer smartnet or portal, but at least portal is prettier.

How did you guys do?

UPDATE: Sasha Goluskin told me that I saved Christmas by telling her how to do this. Yay!

DONE!

Handed in last paper a few hours ago. I actually finished it the night before, which I have never done before. I was proud of myself. Have a great break everyone. I'll probably update a few times over the break when I'm bored.

I'm in the Library

Putting a Santa hat on the discus man is probably the coolest thing I have seen in the library. Speaking of the library, I am in it right now. I am writing my last paper of the semester, and I still have twenty -four hours. At 9 pages that means I only need to write one third of a page per hour. This leaves a lot of time to procrastinate which is good.

The other image is a clue as to where I am. The first person to find me will get something from the Grind for free. You will also receive eternal glory.

Edit: No one has come to visit me yet. Also the girl near me just smelled her scarf for some reason.

New Hobby

I have a new hobby. I tried to come up with a clever name for it, but instead I decided to call it Go into the library during finals and bother as many people as you can. It's not as insidious or horrible as it sounds. I just go into the library and walk around looking for people I know and talk to them for a minute, distracting them from whatever it is they are working on. It's a good study break. My current record is five, but I am planning to break that today hopefully.

Chlorine!

Ladies at NC15 told me that there was Chlorine in the water as I was studying for anthropology. Some guy sent out an email about it. Apparently people in Prince George, Caroline, and Dorch (and maybe others?) have been reporting that their water smells/tastes like chlorine. I think we are all going to die, so begin PANICKING.

Also note that Keystone is nearly already water, so that may or may not be a good alternative to water. I would recommend drinking some Keystone pre-exam in order to avoid dehydration and such.

UPDATE: Trip report: Just smelled the water from my bathroom and it smells like chlorine. Go us! According to a website I just read, extended drinking of over-chlorinated water can lead to upset stomachs and irritated eyes/noses. So nothing serious really. Regardless, I would advise everyone to panic.

Dear Readerz,
  • Does your water smell like chlorine?
  • Are you pro/anti chlorine water?
  • Have you died from chlorine poisoning yet?

Laundry

I am going to miss college. eSuds tells you when it's done, and sometimes you can determine whose wet clothes you are pulling out of the washing machine, and then write on their wall telling them. It's a fun experience.

Dear Readerz,
Have you ever recognized whose clothes you are moving around in the laundry room?
What do you think of mysterious piles of clothes that sit in the laundry room all semester (esp. Dorch)
Laundry room etiquettes, is it cool to move around someone else's clothes?

Coffeehouse

Yo why is coffeehouse so awesome this year. Legit indie bands coming down to play legit indie songs for us. Cool stuff. Meghan Milstead (name dropping rules) is doing a rad job.

REVIEWZ:
Nana Grizol - These guys were cool. The main singer was very cute and awkward, and probably gay (I'm pretty sure someone confirmed this to me). One of them was in Neutral Milk Hotel so that is cool or something.

Donora - They played in DPC which was really cool, and all of the band members were pretty attractive. Nobody showed up though which was depressing and awkward. They played a cover of Paper Planes which was interesting.

The Spring Standards - They were from New York and kinda pretentious but still cool. Really good at playing instruments I think. Also they did a Neil Young cover which is cool cause like only one other person (Sam I forgot his last name and don't feel like looking it up) cheered for Neil Young when they announced that they were going to do this.

All of these bands mentioned that they ate at the Great Room, which is cool I guess.

Keystone Light

Hey, did the price of Keystone Light go up by a dollar everywhere? I feel like it was 12.99 at Cook's in September, but now it's 13.99. Am I correct, or has it always been 13.99?

21 now. Fuck yeahhhhhh. Anyone going to the Door for Taco Night?

Update: First shot as a 21 year old was NyQuil. I dislike being sick.

SGA Meeting 12/8/09

SGA Whatup

EDIT: Hahah I'm dumb as shit, I originally had the date as 11/8/09. Thanks Lisa

8:01 - Meeting hasn't started yet, but everyone just realized that the Point News article about tuition increase said that it was going up by 3300$ instead of 700$. Nice job point news.

The increase is 3%, which would raise tuition by 700$ total for tuition, housing, and other costs etc.

Again, tuition is going up by 700$, not 3,300$. Point News Fail

8:09 - SGA Meeting Starting!

8:10 - Guest speaker is a gurrrl here to talk about Relay for Life. They are playing a video about it and it is depressing because cancer is :[.

8:21 - ugh this movie is 7 minutes long. This sounds like a really cool program and I hope it's successful.

8:23 - apparently you stay up all night. I don't really get it. There is also track running which is unfortunate because track running is difficult when tired.

8:26 - For real though this is a great program and it is the main event that the American Cancer Society sponsors, and I think this will really bring the campus community together.

8:29 - The one speaker, Erika/Erica (dunno how it's spelled), is saying that she wanted to bring the program here because of her best friend's death due to cancer, which is really sad :[

8:33 - Oh my god. Historical Swordsmanship Club. Need I say more? Okay so, one of the kids presenting this, we nicknamed him "German Longsword kid. And this club is literally all about German longsword fighting. So I think we gave him the best nickname possible.

8:36 - Oh my goodness he has been training in the art of German longswords for six years, this kid is amazing.

8:40 - They are going to use kendo sticks to practice. They are like japanese wooden swords or something.

8:43 - For real though they had a really great presentation, probably better than any other club this semester. It passed!

8:52 - Sola is talking about Programs Board fund requests. Kinda boring but she is doing a really great job of discussing what each club wanted and what they were given.

9:01 - Finance Board time! We will be approving club budgets, this will be exciting.

9:05 - Hahah what the fuck, Ski Snowboard club wants to take a trip to fucking Aspen. What is this, NYU or some shit? Actually the price isn't that bad cause one of the condos is free, and they will be getting free rentals.

9:14 - Still discussing this

9:22 - Still discussing this

9:27 - finally done discussing ski and snowboard club

9:28 - just kidding, someone brought it back up, le sigh

9:42 - blah blah blah

9:43 - Katie Caffey is sitting next to me and looks like she is from Zelda

9:45 - Oh my god someone wants to balance the budget and cut $11,000 from the budget. Dear god nooooo

9:55 - I just realized that I rarely say anything during SGA.

9:58 - FUSE wants Chocolate Vaginas, and let me be the first to say that chocolate vaginas are delicious.

10:01 - Robb Kirchner and Alex Walls are standing against the wall, I think they are tired of sitting.

10:07 - Done with the budget woot.

10:20 - Adjourned!

10:21 - Tomorrow is my birthday!

Down with the Sickness

Getting progressively sicker. Came back from break coughing a lot. Now a week later throat is sore. Before finals I imagine I will be dead or something. Therefore I am taking evasive action and beginning a heavy regiment of NyQuil. It will also hopefully lead to awesome/scary sleep.

I learned that a shot glass will hold the correct amount of NyQuil if you pour it in while leaving around the height of a finger unfilled. I don't know if this makes sense, but if you want to take shots of NyQuil I would just recommend measuring it before putting it in a shot glass.

Pics are shitty but I left my camera cord at home, le sigh.

Free Pizza Alert 12/9

This Wednesday around 8PM chill with math dudes and eat pizza while watching A Beautiful Mind. This wednesday is also my birthday which is pretty cool in my opinion.

Also check out how awesome I am at photoshop (ms paint)

Winter Break Closing

Winter break closing information always has the same line that always confuses me
  • All decorations must be removed prior to your departure for Winter Break.
What is the point of this? I don't think any RAs are going to attempt to enforce this rule when doing room inspections. I just don't really get it. Having decorations doesn't violate any college policies.

Advent Calendar Day 3

Advent Calendar Day 3 is a sled. I put the skater boi from day 1 on it as well.

Christmas Decorations

Christmas decorations! I was walking to class and I saw Physical Plant people putting these up. Do they do this every year? I feel like they have in the past but I am unsure. It’s hard to see, but they are wreath flags. I really like wreaths a lot, and these were put up all along the path from the Campus Center to Monty. I think it would be really cool if they put up a tree in the Great Room that everyone could decorate.

Advent Calendar Day 2

Day 2 is a snowman! It's really cute.

School Bus

I was walking to class today and I saw a school bus. I thought this was weird because I haven’t seen a school bus in a long time really. I guess it just gave me high school flashbacks. Also, Lexington Park Christian School sounds awesome/weird. And in the other photo is a rare white school bus. Took the photos with my phone (when did phone cameras get so good? 3.2 megapixels is like what my first digital camera had).

Garden of Remembrance Benches

I have always liked these benches near the Garden of Remembrance because there is always someone there on a nice day.

Yesterday it was two people making out. Stephen Warner and I were taking our afternoon stroll when we noticed them. We thought it was awkward so we decided to take a picture! It's the people near my face with the boots.

They seemed like a nice and happy couple.

SGA: We have enough people this week!

8:05 - Meeting begins

8:09 - Soccer girl is here to tell us that Relay for Life is gonna be at St. Marys March 27th. I'm not sure what it is, but I do know it's about destroying cancer and running around. Awesomeness. Also I think people make teams and compete.

8:10 - Kait Hines is talking about the budget tonight! The SGA gets money via student fees (225$ per student) and from the Student Investment Group (made 6000$).

Currently we have like 400,000$ or somesuch. Nearly 3/4 goes towards finance board and programs board, which means money that clubs requested to do stuff.

8:15 - She just mentioned the recycling gloves which is the legislation I made! Wooo

8:24 - Kait did a really great job with this presentation.

8:29 - Someone just asked if the Dove charges for yearbooks. I guess maybe some schools give out free yearbooks, but it's certainly not here.

8:33 - We are discussing funding the Dove Yearbook by making paid positions for it.

8:40 - It passed!

8:43 - New Club Constitution - Track Development Team! I don't get the name, why do they have "Development" in there, why not just call it Track Team? Or as Justin Perry said, FASTT - Friggin Awesome St.Marys Track Team.

8:48 - I don't get it, our track sucks to the max so I don't see the point in having a club I guess.

8:55 - Dude was like "we'd probably need some batons." Dude, those are called sticks.

9:04 - It's a new club!

9:09 - blah blah blah

9:15 - brendan larabee, mark snyder, lisa, justin perry, danny 5 names, rodkey all just said they would help volunteer with midnight breakfast cleanup. Just making a note here.

9:17 - People are complaining about maintenance. I think they are cool and they fix stuff for me so whatever.

9:20 - Meeting over

Alba Study Abroad

Sometimes I don't like the Alba study abroad program because the kids there often start skyping me at 5PM about how drunk they are. It's amusing!

Apparently Dominator Vodka is 100% grain alcohol (I don't know how this is possible) and is what they buy because Rikaloff is not sold in Italy.

Also apparently they do no homework.

Cheesy Gordita Crunch

This is just a reminder for anyone that doesn't know, the Cheesy Gordita Crunch, one of the most amazing pieces of fast food, is back at Taco Bell

For the uninitiated, Imagine a taco. Pretty wonderful, right? Now imagine cheesy flatbread surrounding that taco. Are you orgasming just thinking about how amazing this thing is?

It's probably one of the most amazing things ever.

Clocking in at 570 calories a piece for only 1.49, you can safely eat four (as long as you are okay with not eating anything else for the day and suffering from an early heart attack) for just 6$. That's less than a burrito from Chipotle

If you are reading this and planning to go grab some CGC-goodness hit me up, I'm always down for a CGC run

Paper

My professor is making me print out all of the articles that I used for my research paper. That is around 150 pages. This is literally the dumbest shit I've heard all week. Also I'm out of pay for print now.

LQ Fire Alarm

It went off at 10:30 this morning. 10:30 is kinda a weird time for a fire alarm to go off, because it's too late to go back to bed (for me and a lot of other people at least), but too early for brunch.

Either way I'm now pretty awake and thankful for it I think. It's too early to think straight.

It's like the third fire alarm we've had in LQ. I am glad the RAs don't make us go all the way to DPC, because it's lame over there.

I just realized that downloading stuff during my 8AM is the best idea ever because speeds are ridiculously fast due to everyone sleeping, and it makes class more exciting

Also new Animal Collective EP is excellent

A Christmas Story

Every year since my first year here I have been watching A Christmas Story as many times as possible, starting sometime after Hallowgreens. I started Monday night, and I am currently beginning my fourth viewing.

I usually give up after watching it like 10 times within a single week and then, start again right before Christmas. But my goal this year is to continue watching it during the whole Christmas Season.

Wish me luck.

Also I think at the end of every post for now on I'll include my current viewcount.

EDIT: Also, if anyone wants to watch it with me, feel free to contact me and stop by

Class Ring Ads on Facebook

I was on facebook the other day, like most people, and I noticed an ad for SMC Class Rings. I guess the Campus Store paid for it. It was kinda cool to see I guess, but mostly I was just really surprised.

Rumor

Rumor going around that Joe Ireland got expelled for graffiti. Don't know if it's just a rumor or true, but I think there's a good chance it's more than just a rumor.

There's more info about this out there, but I'd rather not post it here.

EMERGENCY test

St. Mary's is going to have an EMERGENCY test this Thursday. I don't know when, it is a mystery! You'll be able to hear the loud speakers that are on the ARC and Campus Center saying cool stuff about the EMERGENCY test. Also there will be a crawl on all student computers registered with the SMCM network. This is crazy! I didn't know they could do this. I am excited.

Emergency tests rule!

IT'S COLD OUT

Polly Miller legitimately sends out the best all student emails. I don't know who she is but she is legit awesome. Especially her latest email about cold safety. Especially because the way it's worded, it's clear that it was directed towards employees and workers as opposed to students. But it still has some sweet info.

UPDATE: From what I can gather she works in Physical Plant, and is the Environmental Health and Safety Coordinator.

So remember, the cold can kill you, so make sure you wear warm clothing and follow Polly's advice.

Practical Jokes

Crazy kids at Harrington 4 (pretty sure) moved their friends bed into the dining room.

Let this be a lesson to all of you, that practical jokes are awesome.

Good practical jokes should be
  • Funny
  • If something is moved, everything should be moved accordingly. As you can see, his bag hamper is still attached to the bed
  • Obnoxious
  • Not harmful
  • Photographed
UPDATE: According to a source, possibly someone who lives there
This was actually in retaliation to another practical joke. Roommate A flipped the mattress of Roommate B and then Roommate A proceeded to flip all of Roommate B's clothing inside out. So justice had to be served.

PANIC!

FLOOD
FLOOD
FLOOD

We are all going to die :[

The water is going to go up 2-3 feet. I think this means it could flood Queen Anne and the River Center.

Also it means we are all going to die

PANIC!

St. Mary's College of Moisture

Look how clever I am! Momma would be proud.

For real though this rain is ridiculous. I mostly don't like the wind because it makes holding an umbrella hard.

SGA Meeting 11/10/09

SGA Meeting. There are so many dirty hippies here, I don't know why. They are exciting me. This is glorious.

8:10 - Meeting is starting!

8:15 - blah blah blah

8:16 - Chancellor's Point Club thing. I read the Constitution but I don't get it. But I think this is why the hippies are here. I think it's about environmental learning and doing stuff or something. Apparently Chancellor's point is that point to the left of the Point. I guess this is cool.

8:22 - We are voting. It passed! Hippies are leaving now, I will miss them.

8:23 - Mark Snyder is presenting his bill which is about having a van that would drive to DC one weekend a month. Pretty coolio I guess.

8:29 - blah blah blah

8:46 - blah blah blah to the maxxxxxxx

8:55 - blah blah blah we are finally done talking about this. Postponing taking any action on this

9:04 - Meeting is wrapping up

9:11 - Meeting was kinda boring, and I am sleepy

9:16 - Adam Matthai just said that he is tryna get RedBox on campus. Fuck yessssss. They have one at UMD and it's cool

9:18 - Meeting over

Chance Hall

Was the Health Center always called Chance Hall? I only noticed when they sent out this email a week or two ago, and then I saw that the sign indeed said Chance Hall. It's not much of a hall really, I think that to be classified as a hall buildings should be at least like 20 feet tall or something.

I wonder who Chance is. Also that is a kickass last name.

Monday, November 9, 2009

BABY!

I am in my class, Exceptionality, and the teacher brought her 1-2 month old and it is getting passed around and omg baby I am excited to hold it.

UPDATE: I smell like baby now. Also apparently I have no idea how to hold a baby and everyone found this hilarious/horrifying.

Windows 7

I really don't get the Campus Store. I'm talking about their selling Windows 7 for 117$. It's like, do they not realize that anyone with a .edu email address (which is probably 98% of the people reading this) can get it for only 30 bucks.

It's either stupid, or exploitative.

Food Services Committee

Readers,

I am the chair of the Food Services Committee as a part of the SGA. I am looking for some people to join this committee, where we occasionally discuss food services on campus (stuff like the Great Room, Co-op, Grab and Go, Grind) and make suggestions, complain about stuff, or whatever.

It's open to all students, even if you cook all of your food yourself.

So email me at kenbenjes@gmail.com if you're interested

Also I can promise that I will provide free food to all members

Fantastic Fall Festival of Fun

This saturday the annual Fantastic Fall Festival of Fun will be going on, this year on the Townhouse Greens. From 3 to 5PM come out to the Greens for all kinds of awesome stuff like
  • Games
  • Inflatable Obstacle Course (YESSSSSSS)
  • Candied Apples
  • Fun!
Okay and then after that from 5 until 7:30 there's gonna be BBQ, music, and other stuff.

Also I think I might be DJing during part of it, so let me know if you have any requests or something.

This should be a pretty cool event, and a way to take a break from term papers (and if you aren't busy with term papers I greatly dislike you).

Fancy Dining Utensils

On Tuesday the Grab and Go was closed due to advising day, so I had to go to the Great Room for lunch. I decided to get a box since my advising meeting was soon and the Great Room was about to close but I wasn't hungry yet. So on the way out I went to grab some plastic utensils and found the item pictured above. It came with all three utensils, a really really nice napkin (like, the highest quality disposable napkin you can imagine) and a thing to hold it all together. I don't know why it was so fancy, but it was pretty sweet/a total waste.

Community Garden

Last week the Community Garden got pretty trashed by some people. Guy Kilpatric sent out an email with these pictures, explaining the situation. As you can see, the bamboo construction that used to be standing (I don't really know what for because I don't know much about gardening, but maybe support for plants like tomatoes, but I don't know if tomatoes can grow in this weather) got knocked over pretty badly, and some other stuff got kicked around.

This incident goes along with the recent graffiti and LQ Kitchen destruction of people on Campus messing shit up, and it's really lame.

I believe that at tonight's SEAC meeting they will be discussing how they will be repairing the community garden, so if you want to help out with this effort you should attend or email SEAC/Guy, and I'm sure they would love your help!

Also if you are the reason this happened then you should stop because it's lame and results in less food.

SGA Meeting 11/3/09

SGA Meeting this week is gonna be super short

8:07 - Meeting has begun

8:15 - A guy (not Guy) is here talking about his SMP for student speakout. I don't care. This kid is really awkward. Okay he has given up on explaining his SMP because he isn't really sure. Okay now he is again trying again to explain it. Something about restoring a barn in historic and doing stuff with it. I think he is asking us money. Fuck this shit. I don't care about barns.

8:22 - blah blah blah, I don't see why the SGA should fund this.

8:25 - What the fuck he wants 20k from us to make this barn. I don't see how this shit will benefit students, or why students would want their money going towards this.

EDIT: Guy Kilpatric responds to defend the barn! He makes some excellent points.
The reason the barn is important, is because it is one of few remaining nineteenth-century tobacco barns. It's a lasting remnant of pre-modernized St. Mary's County. I think it's relationship to St. Mary's College is tied to the land. Which is another important reason for the barn's restoration.

Martin probably mentioned the potentiality of initiating a campus farm in conjunction with the use of the restored barn. Starting a campus farm at St. Mary's College would be an important step toward the College's goal of sustainability. There are a few different organizations coming from the position that this would be a good thing. As president of the Community Garden Club, I too support this, and I am working closely with Martin and others to accomplish this project within the best interests of the students, the college, and the surrounding community. I believe the barn is a great opportunity for the students to explore our local geography and culture.

8:30 - Tess Wier is here to talk about the Anti-Vandalism march.

8:32 - Marlena is here to talk about the First Responders Network. They try to stop sexual assault, woo! You should add 301-904-2015 to your phone, because this is their number you can call 24/7 for advice and help and such about sexual assault.

8:35 - 1 in 6 women and 1 in 33 men will be sexually assaulted. Also 75%+ rapes are date rapes, so watch your dranks!

8:38 - Holy shit, when Marlena makes percentage signs, she uses dots instead of circles!

8:40 - Most common date rape drug is...alcohol! This makes a lot of sense. You really should make sure you don't drink too much and stuff. Like, I think trying to keep track of how many units of alcohol you have consumed is difficult, but a great way to avoid puking and rape and hangovers.

EDIT: I would like to say that rape is never the victims fault. Never

8:56 - People complaining about the soda and snack machines not working.

9:00 - Holy shit Dean Bayless just said Grab and Go might get closed

9:01 - What the fuck are Night Hawks. Some program where students went on patrol.

Meeting over!

Internet

Internet sucks. I can't even get bookface to load.

Sprinklers

I'm sure a lot of people heard about this or even witnessed the Sprinklers going off on the Greens the morning after Hallowgreens, but here is a picture!

This shit is ridiculous.

This Weekend's Movie

This weekend's Movie will be Harry Potter (6) and the Half Blood Prince.

I haven't seen the movie yet, but I read it over the summer when I was lifeguarding and it was pretty good.

Also I think this is the one where Dumbledore dies which is very :[

Heads up 7 Up

At the SGA meeting two weeks ago (October 20th?) we had to vote on something, and someone proposed that we all put our heads down while we vote.

This resulted in a ridiculous SGA meeting. I think it was Lisa Neu's fault.

It was like being seven again.

SGA Meeting 10/27/09

SGA whatup. Starting soon I hope

8:06 - Haven't started yet

8:07 - Startinggg. Mark Snyder is not here he is sick or somesuch

8:10 - George Waggoner is here to talk to us! He is in charge of CTSS, the technology thing. He is telling us that people responding to spam are messing shit up. Stop responding to spam campus! Like all those emails that ask you for your password and stuff, don't respond to those.

8:19 - Lol he just admitted that they don't go after people with routers, even though they are not allowed according to To The Point.

8:28 - Danny is here to talk about SafeRide. According to him people stopped going to Oasis due to townies hitting people on the heads with bottles. So they are attempting to make it a college night maybe (wednesday).

8:31 - Resolution stating that SGA does not condone graffiti. Cool. No shit SGA doesn't condone graffiti, what the fuck is the point of this. The only good point is apologizing to Physical Plant on behalf of the people who did this.

8:36 - It's really cold in here!

8:47 - Blah blah blah

8:52 - Another resolution, this one about thanking Bon Appetit staff and physical plant and Public Safety for doing a good job. Woooo

9:03 - Funding stuff blah blah blah

9:10 - Idea to raise student fees since they haven't been for awhile. These fund clubs and stuff.

9:16 - It is really fucking cold I can't deal with this, my fingers are starting to get numb and typing is becoming harder.

9:18 - Justin Perry just mentioned the possibility of an ad-hoc committee. Probably because he is obsessed with ad-hoc committees.

9:22 - O shit Harry Potter this weekend whatup!

9:27 - blah blah blah

9:50 - meeting over

Thunder!

It just thundered at 12:05 AM.

I don't think I have heard thunder since the summer. I really missed it.

During the summer I lifeguard, and thunder always means closing the pool and playing boardgames for at least an hour.

Summary: Thunderstorms rule

Also, this movie was surprisingly awesome.

Mostly because it's hard to remove

Contest! #2

Contest! Do you know where the object in this photo is?

The winner will receive a signed self portrait of myself. How wondrous!

Night of Terror

I went to the White Room on Sunday to check out the 3 Act Night of Terror performance. The first two acts were entertaining and funny, and had vampires and demons. Max Heaton's performance of Edgard Allen Poe's The Telltale Heart was just phenomenal, and definitely the highlight of the show. Jess O'Rear and some other guy gave a really convincing performance of seeing demons.

EDIT: Kiki Possick Directed the first two, and Pete Lance directed the last one.

Speaking of the White Room, I feel like it's one of those things that is really college-y. Like, low budget performances that are funded by donations and selling candy, with hit or miss shows. It was really entertaining.

Woodland Dining

I went for a walk through North Woods today with some friends. I haven't really gone in since my first semester here, but I still could still find my way to the treehouse and fire pit.

However, right behind LQ is this very wondrous setup that someone put together. A table and some chairs, overlooking Vietnam.

It's pretty easy to get there, but I'm not going to explain because it's more fun that way.

No Woman No Cry

Kids upstairs just started playing Bob Marley's No Woman No Cry

So I decided to do the same thing

We have reached peak Marley (similar to when we reached peak oil, both will result in horrible catastrophes or something)

Farmville Dairy

Bought a new Dairy in farmville and filled it up with cows. Looks cool.

God I love farmville

Bear Claws

There is one important thing that I forgot to mention about the SGA meeting last night: Bear Claws. When I presented my legislation to buy gloves, Samuel Warrens said that I should buy bear/bare/bere gloves because they are really strong. When we tried to search for these gloves via Google, this was all we could find. We then spent 5 minutes debating the usefulness of furry bear gloves. It was awesome and probably the highlight of the meeting.

And the new President of the College is

No one

Goddamit

I wonder which withdrew, my guess would be Kate

SGA Meeting 10/20/09

SGA Meeting!

8:09 - Matt Smith has a Battlestar Galactica desktop background. lol

8:13 - Someone just walked in late, I forgot her name.

8:14 - Student speakout about kids putting chalk everywhere. I don't really care about chalk so whatever I don't get what they are complaining about.

8:19 - blah blah blah

8:23 - Apparently chalk is bad for bricks. I didn't know that.

8:24 - People like to use the word "fruition" a lot.

8:33 - Student speakout again, about porn or some shit I don't really care, playing Farmville.

8:37 - Dean Bayless is giving us a really good explanation about the whole showing porn on campus. It's not a big deal, and the biggest thing would be that doing so may require adding an educational aspect. Either way she did a good job of not making people panic about it.

8:38 - I hope they play that Pirate porn in Cole Cinema.

8:51 - Senate Leader elections. I am running lol

8:57 - Matt won woooo

9:02 - People want a microwave in PG blah blah blah

EDIT: PG did get a microwave, and so did QA

9:06 - Still debating microwave stuff. If anyone wants to join my committee, Food Services Committee, email me!

9:11 - blah blah blah

9:17 - Commuter Kitchen

9:22 - Will Clements is serving people left and right, telling them that they are stupid and should shut up. Not literally, but he is good at serving out ownage.

9:37 - I think they should use a minifridge but no one agrees :[

9:44 - Just got a bill passed to buy some gloves. Whatup!

9:48 - What the fuck Brenden Larrabee just walked in

9:51 - Blah blah blah

Meeting over at some poitn

Floor Hockey

Intramural Floor Hockey is starting up soon. There's an email about it and I don't feel like repeating all the details, but I think there are several leagues or something.

Either way it should be awesome.

Brendan Larrabee is UnAmerican

Earlier today, Brendan Larrabee threw a pen at Mark Snyder, severely wounding him. We feel that he should resign as Senator because of this scandal.

Please do not throw pens.

(That is in fact the wound, and not Mark cutting himself with a razor)

CE110

I took this photo in Guam. The license plate says CE110. It makes me think of the instrument, the Cello. But also Jello, which reminds me of Bill Cosby, and the fact that people are going to increasingly be wearing Bill Cosby sweaters due to the coldness.

Speaking of coldness, the weather sucked this weekend. Like, on Saturday night I did not leave LQ, I just visited other people in LQ, or told them to visit me.

EDIT: Apparently the car belongs to a young lady named Cello. This is amazing.

Quote

My favorite quote from the weekend

I was thinking of going to the Nest to seduce some freshmen boys
Oh goodness

Some kid is tagging stuff on campus. Lame.

EDIT: Sorry that I wasn't clear. Someone is going around with spraypaint, spraypainting stuff.

Email Check

This email was annoying and stupid. I don't think allstudentemail access is something that you need to check, like I just assume that if at some point I need to use my allstudentemail access it then it'll work. She should have attached a photo of a kitten or something so that this would not have been a waste.

Lean like James Dean

I was walking to my 8AM in Kent and I saw this and it made me smile a lot (there are pictures of him leaning up against shit looking cool as hell)
