According to a very reliable news source (Yahoo news lol) a shoe tree in Nevada, the largest shoe tree ever, was destroyed by VANDALS. Here on campus we have had some issues with vandals (via Joe Ireland) and we also have our own beloved shoe tree.
BUT WHAT IF SOMEONE WERE TO CHOP DOWN OUR SHOE TREE? PANIC!
I think it is probably safe though because no one on campus is allowed to have a knife greater than three inches, and generally people chop down trees with axes or chainsaws, which are illegal. So I think it is safe.
Readers, have yall thrown shoes in the tree? I feel like it's something that a lot of people may neglect to do because once you throw your shoes up there you don't have them anymore. I had to get a pair of shoes for the dance show a few semester ago, so I threw those up when I was done with the dance show (they were used shoes and I spraypainted them black).
i'm pretty sure you're still a virgin, don't believe it
ReplyDeleteone interesting thing is that it seems not many people know the actual rules of the shoe tree. do you throw them up there when you lose your virginity only, or when you have relations with a new partner for the first time? these issues are contentious certainly, and seem to be up for debate and interpretation, kind of like the first amendment
ReplyDeletethere arent any rules, but what ive always been told and passed along is that you throw them up there when you lose your St. Mary's Virginity, aka, first time you have sex on campus, 'cause otherwise it'd be unfair to all the peeps who had sex in high school.
ReplyDeleteit's campus virginity. duhhh.
ReplyDeleteI'm pretty sure I've completed the act of coitus, but I could be wrong.
ReplyDeleteAnd yeah it's definitely for on campus shenanagins
Awesome stuff my friend excellent
ReplyDeleteINteresting, I think your shoe tree is safe enough for now :P
ReplyDeletei used to always throw shoes up there, haha!
ReplyDeleteI was taking a tour by the other day, and someone was throwing their shoes up. It was excellent timing.
ReplyDeleteDon't worry I've learned (via Yahoo news comments) that only ileagul messicans (/probably other terrurist brownz, also) would do something like this! So I feel like our school is relatively safe.
ReplyDeletewe should start a 24 hour guard around the shoe tree...
ReplyDeleteI always heard it was for any very special on campus firsts. I got my first ever college all A and B final grades so I threw my shoes then
ReplyDeletethat's just what they tell prospective students so parents don't flip out.
ReplyDeleteI don't throw shoes in a tree, because they might hit the cat that is stuck up there.
ReplyDeleteI have caused many freshmen girls' shoes to end up in this tree
ReplyDeletewhat about a tree for commemorating four loko? or maybe a bush. as four loko beautifully affects coordination.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah! Hey "Anonymous," I totally agree with your statement!
