Readers, do you prefer light bulbs that are boring orbs or futuristic swirly things? If you prefer the latter, you can exchange your lame bulbs for new ones! CFL bulbs are a lot more energy efficient and way prettier.
On January 16th and 17th, volunteers will be outside the entrances of all the traditional dorms from 12-2, and in LQ and Calvert from 3-5. So show up with an incandescent bulb to exchange for a cool one!
damn seriously cool, free exchange is awesome.
ReplyDeleteBut they're not as bright. Therefore, dull.
ReplyDeletebut you dont have to change them for years! it's fantastic. i want me a swirly bulb (and some ice cream).
ReplyDeleteThat's really awesome that somebody's putting this on for students for free. I bet they're giving away some reeeeally crappy CFL's though since they're free haha
ReplyDeleteactually, it's all funded through the Green St. Mary's Revolving Loan Fund, which pays for energy saving initiatives and then reaps the financial savings to replace the upfront cost. So they're probably decent CFLs, in order to capitalize on the most energy savings.
ReplyDeletebut i dont like those bulbs. they make weird light
ReplyDeletegreat idea. lets sae our planet before it's too late
ReplyDeleteCFLs if done right can also grow crops of green stuff.... love these bulbs
