If I recall correctly, no more than two days ago we got into a discussion about whether or not university was defined as having graduate and undergraduate degrees.
Some colleges....very good colleges...have post-grad studies but still refrain from adopting the "university" label. College of William and Mary, Amherst....kind of feel like the "college" label is closer to the general liberal arts education mission. I attach a negative connotation to "universities." It's unfair and inexplicable--I just do it, don't know why.
