Last Friday 3 First Year members of the Basketball Team (check the archives for previous coverage) robbed, with guns, their weed dealer in WC.

I think it's also worth noting that, chances are, these dudes are pretty tall, I mean one of them is 6'9" (nice). That's gonna stand out on a college campus right? IDK. 

Questions to consider:

• They stole 8 oz. of weed, valued at $1,200. Is that a legit figure??? That seems a lil' low for SMCM, but idk maybe the floor bottomed out???
• How will Harney react???
• What do you do now? Like what does the college do? I hope they don't take a reactionary approach to this, in any form. This is a one-off, not indicative of larger issues, right? idk

First Day of School

How did yall enjoy the first day of school?  Did you make 'friends'?  Or 'enemies'?  Kinda wish I had a mortal enemy that I could battle on the regular.  In high school I used to have light sabre battles with a fellow student on the way to our last class of the day.  Wish I had that relationship with someone.  Gonna go on craigslist Casual Encounters to find a light sabre enemy.

What kinda classes are yall takin?  SMPs???  Disney Bio?  Wish they had a class about cartoons here.  Saw some depressing stuff today like trees that were bent in the wrong direction, I think there is a HULK monster on campus, gonna blog about it later when I figure out how to upload pictures from my cellular device.

Also First Years all look like babies.

What not to wear

TAs

I am sitting on a bean bag chair in the third floor of the library working on midterms and there are some First Years here who are acting like TAs are some magical beings that aren't students.

"He's not my TA though, he's a peer mentor, he's just a student"

I would like to remind my readers that both Paul Lemley and Brian Van Parys have been TAs.

Also this is not out of hate, it's out of love, love for new students.

The Great St. Mary's T Shirt Sale

I happened upon this facebook group a week ago or so by chance, and found it interesting. A bunch of kids (most of whom seem to be First Years) put together a facebook group where they are trying to buy a shirt that they designed. I don't really like the shirt because the bird on the back is clearly an Eagle, and no one gives a fuck what your SAT score was. But, I like the idea of people putting together an order for a T Shirt that they made, it's very cute. Sooo good luck!
