Graduation Hats

Okay so apparently at other colleges people decorate their graduation hats, AKA mortarboards (what a dumb name).

I'm surprised we don't do this at SMCM via doing kooky things like handing out beers to the grads and riding bikes around campus naked.

Not sure what I would have put on mine.  Maybe something about the blog, maybe a photo of a dinosaur, possibly several penises?  Hard 2 say.  Possibly Rikaloff.  Or Keystone Light.

Really though I think keeping at least one aspect of graduation pure and simple is a nice thing.

Alumni Weekend

Is this weekend!  Better post tomorrow???  We shall see.  PS I will be there!

Dudes Dressed up as Frisbees

Woah check out these dudes in costumes that are actually FRISBEES circa 1981.  Pretty cool costume and they looked good as well.  I'm not really sure what the event was, or where this took place, but it looks like one dude has a microphone, so maybe this was during Orientation?

For several hours I could only imagine that the sign said 'No Puking Please' or 'No Parking Please' but it probably says 'No Spiking Please' which is kinda cute.

Panty Tree

I have no idea why in 1981 there was a tree (not sure where exactly, definitely near the pond, maybe it grew into that big tree that became the last hole for frisbee golf?  It looks like it could be in that area) covered in panties, but I think this tradition should be resurrected.

Soft Serve Machine

Back in 1986 SMCM had a soft serve machine for ice cream stuff.  I have heard of this before but now I see a photo of it.

What BULLSHIT.  Why don't we get a soft serve machine.  We are clearly degrading as an institution if we no longer have soft serve machine.  It looks so delicious, I wish I was eating it right now because it is kinda hot out (via humidity).  I also went for a bike ride and raced some twelve year olds from the pool so I am kinda sweaty (I won btw).

I'm not actually upset regarding this I just thought it would be funny to freak out about it.  Also this girl has cool hair.

SMCM Marauder's Map

Someone, I believe Jamie Phillips, made a Marauder's Map (via Harry Potter) for SMCM.  So far the only thing that I've found on the map itself is clicking on Monty to find out how to get on the roof easily.  Oh and I just found something to click on around the Campus Center which leads into the top of the tower...interesting.  Oh and there is something to click on around Anne Arundel.
