Logo Theft!

I was updating my 'twitter' account earlier today when I noticed a novelty account called "SMCM (sic) Conf3ssions. It seemed like your average novelty twitter account, until I took a closer look.

Let us zoom in a bit (via CSI: Miami, Las Vegas, New York) and see what is up with this dude

WHAT IS THAT LOGO? IS THAT MY LOGO?

I commissioned the logo a few years ago and someone (idk Sean Allerd???) emailed me a logo and I was pretty pleased. At least I think that is what happened, I don't actually remember the email, I just remember waking up Saturday morning and suddenly my blog had a logo. As Hemingway said, "edit the logo and layout of your blog drunk, be surprised about it sober."

As you can see this gimmick account has not been used very much. And why would anyone want to leave their bed? Here is a short list of great things to do in your bed

  • sexual intercourse
  • sleep
  • eat breakfast
  • eat lunch
  • make a blanket fort
  • sexual intercourse
I confronted the account owner via 'tweeting at them' #confrontation

And they actually got back to me pretty quickly

You are correct, gimmick blogger, it is a good one.

Pretty sure this counts as 'plagiarism'. Gonna report him to J-Board and get him expelled for plagiarism.

Public Safety Bros to Become Legit Officers

Some "Newspaper" recently wrote an "article" (I think they are like blog posts???) about the Public Safety bros becoming Gen-Yoo-Ine policemens.  Seems to be a result of Zylak (new head of public safety and former St. Mary's County Sheriff and Bayless talking.  This means PS will have all the powers of real police to detain people etc.

Not sure that this will have a huge effect.  Kinda feel like offenses like underage drinking and drug possession will still have people sent to JBoard rather than jail.  Biggest change would probably be arresting/harsher punishments for Townies who are obnoxious on big nights like Hallowgreens.

Photo blatantly stolen from a newspaper that literally costs thousand of dollars a year to run

SMCM Student Bill Sokolove comments that
"Usually, things like this come out in all-student emails, and I'm wondering why that didn't happen, why we had to find out from an inside story in The Point News. The vagary is sketchy, and so is the policy. We need a dialogue between students and the admin."
Which is a fair point.  Feel like this is going to raise a lot of PANIC and there could have been some actual discussion with students regarding this since it is a fairly important thing and affects a lot of students.

One positive is that they still won't have guns.  Some of yall may remember a certain potential Student Trustee who liked the idea of arming PS.  Still not really sure why but w/e.

Just kinda feel like it would be cool if they told us why make this change.  There is obviously a reason, and not explaining that makes people feel like children or something.  Zylak mentions that students should be arrested if they put their hands on a PS officer, do yall agree?  What else is in that 1% of cases that should lead to arrest in Zylak and Bayless's opinion?

T Shirts

I was talking to Sam Rockler today, she said I should make T Shirts for/about the blog that you are currently reading/ignoring.

What do yall think about T Shirts. I used to really like T Shirts in high school, but recently I've lost my love for them.

Was thinking about selling the shirts for 20$ at coffeehouse via merch stand at shows.

EDIT: The above is an unfunny joke and they would cost no where near that much

What kind of shirt would yall want to see
  • a picture of Tom Seahawk smiling
  • the triumphant return of 'I pregame J-Board' shirts via Ben Casto
  • white v-neck w/SMCM LOL BLOG spraypainted on via stencil
  • picture of dean bayless surrounded with hearts
If one of you cool kids comes up with a sweet idea I'll be sure to get you a shirt for frees
