srsly??? I hope this mean wage increases for staff

  1. sounds like some of the money from the tuition increase will go into a raise pool but it's not yet clear who will get raises and how much. the trustees had the living wage campaign in mind while making this decision, so they probably will get raises of some sort. just summarizing because... i don't know.

i hope raises for staff (at least) will be distributed based on need/family situation somehow.

  2. If the governor's budget is passed staff will get 2%, and the college administration is looking to add another 1.5% on top of that. From what they said this will be what they're going to talk about putting into the budget now that the board has approved the tuition increase, but nothing's set in stone until the budget is discussed, presented and approved. They also said they were only going to discuss raises for those who have *not* received any raises in the last couple of years (i.e., all the lowly "non-critical" folks).

  3. Botzman I'm sure will find a way to screw over the low paying staff members and the students once again. . .

  4. Didn't we just get in trouble for having the highest tuition of all the state schools in Maryland, or was I dreaming that?
